The Government announced today (February 24) the closure of part of the footpath of Playing Field Road and Nathan Road to facilitate improvement works of the Mass Transit Railway (MTR) Prince Edward Station.
A portion of the footpath on Playing Field Road between Nathan Road and Portland Street will be permanently closed and altered from March 30, 2012, for the construction of a new MTR external lift.
A portion of the footpath on Nathan Road at its junction with Playing Field Road and part of the footpath of Playing Field Road between Nathan Road and Portland Street will be temporarily closed and altered for a period of about 37 months from March 30, 2012.
During the construction period, pedestrians will be diverted and a minimum 1.5 metre-wide footpath will be maintained.
Two notices on the road closure and alteration were published in the Government Gazette today.
A plan showing the affected area is available for public inspection at the Public Enquiry Service Centre, Yau Tsim Mong District Office, G/F, Mong Kok Government Offices, 30 Luen Wan Street, Mong Kok; and at the District Lands Office (Kowloon West), 10/F, Yau Ma Tei Carpark Building, 250 Shanghai Street, Yau Ma Tei.
Any person who wishes to make a claim for compensation should write to the Director of Lands, 20/F, North Point Government Offices, 333 Java Road, North Point.
