     The Greater Pearl River Delta Business Council today (February 15) submitted a report on its work in 2010-12 to the Chief Executive. The report has also been promulgated for public information.

"Policy Recommendations for Further Liberalisation
and Deepening of CEPA during the 12.5 Period" report
----------------------------------------------------

     The Business Council also released today its study report entitled "Policy Recommendations for Further Liberalisation and Deepening of CEPA during the 12.5 Period", which puts forward a series of recommendations on further liberalisation of trade in services under the Mainland and Hong Kong Closer Economic Partnership Arrangement (CEPA) during the 12th Five-year Plan period.

Background
----------

     The Business Council was set up on March 1, 2004, to provide a forum for constructive exchange of information and ideas between the business sectors in Hong Kong and Guangdong and to make recommendations to the Government on how to broaden the scope of economic co-operation between the two places.
