CE to attend Hong Kong/Shanghai Economic and Trade Co-operation Conference in Shanghai

     The Chief Executive, Mr Donald Tsang, will lead a delegation of several principal officials to Shanghai on January 5 to attend the Hong Kong/Shanghai Economic and Trade Co-operation Conference.

     Mr Tsang will meet Shanghai government officials and tour the Shanghai World Financial Centre and Hongqiao Central Business District.

     The delegation includes the Financial Secretary, Mr John C Tsang; the Secretary for the Civil Service, Miss Denise Yue; the Secretary for Home Affairs, Mr Tsang Tak-sing; the Secretary for Financial Services and the Treasury, Professor K C Chan; the Secretary for Commerce and Economic Development, Mr Gregory So; and the Secretary for Constitutional and Mainland Affairs, Mr Raymond Tam. Officials from both sides will discuss co-operation in various areas, ranging from commerce and trade, financial services, civil aviation and maritime transport, tourism, conventions and exhibitions, to culture, sports and civil service.

     Mr Tsang will return to Hong Kong on the afternoon of January 6. During his absence, the Chief Secretary for Administration, Mr Stephen Lam, will be the Acting Chief Executive.
