Secondary School Profiles 2011-2012 released today

The following is issued on behalf of the Committee on Home-School Co-operation:

The Committee on Home-School Co-operation (CHSC) today (December 6) released the e-version (in Chinese and English) of the Secondary School Profiles 2011-2012. The printed version (in Chinese) will be delivered to primary schools for distribution to parents with children at Primary Six level in the current school year.

The Secondary School Profiles 2011-2012 contain information provided by individual schools showing their situations as at September 2011. The profiles cover basic information of more than 400 secondary schools, such as teaching staff information, class structure, school facilities, school characteristics, school life, extra-curricular activities, student support and school curriculum, as well as the schools' teaching strategies including whole-school language policy.

The profiles aim to provide comprehensive secondary school information for parents' reference. The Chairman of the CHSC, Dr Gordon Tsui, wrote an article entitled "Letter to Parents - Whole Person Development: Learning from the Very Beginning" for the profiles to share relevant experience.

The e-version of the profiles enables schools to update their information on the web direct, whenever necessary, and parents can obtain the most up-to-date school information.

The public can access the e-version of the profiles at Copies of the printed version will be available for public reference at District Offices, public libraries, Regional Education Offices and the Central Resources Centre of the Education Bureau (EDB).
