Two women arrested for murder in Yuen Long

     Police today (November 17) arrested two expatriate women, aged 26 and 32, suspected to be connected to a murder case happened yesterday morning (November 16) in Yuen Long.

     At 10.36am today, Police received a report that the 26-year-old gave birth to a baby inside a unit at Ying Lung Wai, Yuen Long yesterday morning (November 16). The woman wrapped the newborn baby in clothes and put it inside a plastic bag. The woman and her 32-year-old female friend then dumped the baby at a refuse collection point at Ying Lung Wai.  
  
     Police officers sped to the scene and initial investigation revealed that the baby is believed to have been sent to the West New Territories Landfill in Tuen Mun. Officers of District Crime Squad, Yuen Long District and the Police Tactical Unit were conducting a search at scene. Fire officers had attended scene to assist the search.

     The two expatriate women were arrested for murder. They are still being detained for further enquiries.

     Investigations by District Crime Squad, Yuen Long are underway.
