Fatal traffic accident in Lok Ma Chau

     Police are investigating a fatal traffic accident in Lok Ma Chau this morning (November 8) in which a 55-year-old taxi driver was killed and four bus passengers were injured.

     At about 6.25am, a taxi driven by the 55-year-old man was travelling along Chau Tau Section of Castle Peak Road towards Yuen Long. When approaching near Chau Tau, the taxi reportedly had a head-on collision with a bus driven by a 54-year-old man travelling in the opposite direction.

     Sustaining serious head injuries, the taxi driver was rushed to North District Hospital where he was certified dead at 6.52am.

     Three male and one female passengers of the bus, aged between 29 and 76, sustained slight injuries and were sent to North District Hospital for treatment.

     Investigations by the Special Investigation Team of Traffic, New Territories North, are underway.
