Police arrested a 64-year-old man in connection with a murder case in Tuen Mun in which a 74-year-old man was killed in Tuen Mun today (October 5).
About 5pm, Police received report that there was a fighting in a corridor of Hing Tai House in Tai Hing Estate. Police sped to the scene and found the 74-year-old man lying unconsciously in the corridor. He was rushed to Tuen Mun Hospital where he was certified dead at 5.33pm.
Police arrested a 64-year-old man in connection with the case at scene. He sustained injuries to his hands and was also sent to Tuen Mun Hospital for medical treatment. A one-foot long knife was seized at scene.
Initial examination found multiple chop wounds to the body of the deceased. A post-mortem will be conducted tomorrow (October 6) to ascertain the cause of his death.
Investigations by the District Crime Squad of Tuen Mun are under way.
