Eligible persons who have yet to register as electors should submit their applications on or before the registration deadline on Saturday (July 16).
"Only registered electors can vote in the District Council election in November this year," a spokesman for the Registration and Electoral Office (REO) said today (July 13).
Registered electors are not required to register again. However, they should report any change of address or other registration particulars to the REO by August 29.
Hong Kong permanent residents holding an identity document who have reached 18 years of age and ordinarily reside in Hong Kong are eligible to be registered as electors.
Forms for voter registration or to report changes in registration particulars can be downloaded from the voter registration website at www.voterregistration.gov.hk. They can also be obtained from the REO, District Offices and the management offices of public housing estates.
Completed forms can be sent to the REO by post to 10/F, Guardian House, 32 Oi Kwan Road, Wan Chai, or by fax to 2891 1180.
To help protect the environment, electors are encouraged to provide or update their email addresses, which will be provided to the candidates concerned for sending election advertisements.
For enquiries, please call 2891 1001.
