Response to Consultancy Study on Community Care Services for the Elderly

The Elderly Commission today (July 4) released the Consultancy Study on Community Care Services for the Elderly.
A spokesman for the Labour and Welfare Bureau said that the Government generally agreed with the overall thrust of the consultancy study and would examine the feasibility of its specific recommendations thoroughly and map out the way forward.
"In keeping with our well-established policy of 'ageing in place as the core, institutional care as backup', we will continue to allocate resources to provide elderly care services to elders in need," he said.
