Woman charged with murder

     Police today (June 22) holding charged a 50-year-old woman with one count of murder in connection with a case in which her mother died at Ngau Tau Kok on Monday (June 20).

     About 6.25pm that day, the woman made a report that her mother and father, aged 83 and 86 respectively, collapsed inside their residence at Tsui Shek House in Ping Shek Estate. Police sped to the scene and found the couple collapsed on the floor. The 83-year-old woman was certified dead at the scene, and the 86-year-old man was sent to United Christian Hospital in unconscious state.

     After initial investigation, Police arrested the 50-year-old woman yesterday (June 21). Post-mortem examinations conducted today revealed that the deceased sustained multiple injuries. Further toxicological tests will be arranged later.

     The arrested woman will appear at Kwun Tong Magistrates' Courts tomorrow (June 23).

     Active investigations by the Regional Crime Unit of Kowloon East are underway.
