Pop star René Liu to lead Edward Lam's "The Doppelgänger"

     Following the success of "18 Springs" in 2003, theatre director Edward Lam will again collaborate with multitalented actress René Liu in the forthcoming production "The Doppelgänger".

     Production of the "The Doppelgänger", a schizophrenic tragicomic farce that takes place in a 21st century back garden adapted from the literary classic "Romance of the West Chamber", marks the 20th anniversary of Edward Lam Dance Theatre.

     Apart from Lam and Liu, the star-studded production personnel also include playwright Chen Li-hua and leading actor David Wang, supported by other promising performers.

     "The Doppelgänger" is presented by the Leisure and Cultural Services Department. The shows will be performed in Putonghua, with Chinese surtitles, at 7.30pm from July 21 to 23 (Thursday to Saturday), and at 2.45pm on July 24 (Sunday) at the Grand Theatre, Hong Kong Cultural Centre. Tickets priced at $450, $320, $220 and $120 are now available at URBTIX outlets, on the Internet and by credit card telephone booking (some $120 seats may have restricted view). Half-price tickets are available for senior citizens aged 60 or above, people with disabilities, full-time students and Comprehensive Social Security Assistance (CSSA) recipients (limited tickets for students and CSSA recipients available on a first-come, first-served basis). A maximum discount of 20% is offered for group bookings.
