| The Secretary for Financial Services and the Treasury, Professor K C Chan, continued his four-day visit to Indonesia and Malaysia today (May 24), which included a joint roadshow with the Director of the Shanghai Municipal Government Financial Services Office, Dr Fang Xinghai.
Professor Chan also hosted a luncheon seminar under the theme "Hong Kong and Shanghai: Internationalisation of RMB Markets" in Jakarta, Indonesia, at which he met various financial officials.
Tomorrow (May 25), the delegation will stage a seminar with the same theme in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, aiming to encourage financial institutions, chambers of commerce and multinational corporations to take part in Renminbi-related business. Other officials joining the roadshow include representatives of the Hong Kong Monetary Authority and the Shanghai Head Office of the People's Bank of China.
