Police Recruitment Seminar to be held next Saturday
***************************************************

The Hong Kong Police Force will organise the "Police Recruitment Seminar" at the Hong Kong Police College at Aberdeen on May 28 (Saturday).

The newly introduced event is a part of the Force's recruitment campaign for the financial year 2011/12 which includes the Police Recruitment Day, Recruitment Express, the Education and Careers Expo as well as other proactive publicity and programmes.

The "Police Recruitment Seminar" serves to enhance candidates' understanding of the Police Force. Through seminars, questions and answer sessions, and demonstrations, participants will be able to acquire a better understanding of recruitment procedures and general interview skills.

Three sessions of the seminar will be conducted at 10am, 11.30am and 2.30pm. Each of them will consist of:

- introduction of selection processes for Probationary Inspector and Recruit Police Constable,
- sharing of interview skills,
- demonstration of physical fitness test; and
- on-site initial screening (includes height and weight measurement/eyesight test).

Those interested in joining the Force and attending the seminar are requested to complete the application form for Probationary Inspector/Police Constable, available at www.police.gov.hk/recruitment, before next Wednesday (May 25).

Applicants should bring along their proof of academic qualifications (original and duplicate) to the seminar for verification.

This year, the Force aims to recruit 920 police officers, including 170 Probationary Inspectors and 750 Recruit Police Constables who possess the competences required of a police officer, share the same values of the Force and endeavour to become a professional police officer to serve the community.
