Work for two proposed new submarine gas pipelines gazetted

     Two submarine gas pipelines 450 millimetres in diameter will be laid by the Hong Kong and China Gas Company Limited within an area of approximately 16.1 hectares of foreshore and seabed from the sea wall of To Kwa Wan across Victoria Harbour to the sea wall of North Point Police Station. This is to facilitate the construction of the Central Kowloon Route and the Cruise Terminal Development.

     The proposed work is scheduled to commence in 2011 for completion by 2013.

     The extent of the area affected was published in a notice in the Government Gazette today (May 13). Any person who considers that he has an interest, right or easement in or over the foreshore and seabed involved may submit a written objection to the Director of Lands, 20/F, North Point Government Offices, 333 Java Road, North Point, Hong Kong, on or before July 13. The notice of such objection should describe the interest, right or easement of the objector and the manner in which he alleges he will be affected.

     The notice together with its related plan No. KM8253 is posted near the site. The plan is also available for public inspection at the Lands Department Survey and Mapping Office, 23/F, North Point Government Offices, 333 Java Road, North Point, Hong Kong; Eastern District Office, Public Enquiry Service Centre, G/F, Eastern Law Courts Building, 29 Tai On Street, Sai Wan Ho, Hong Kong; and Kowloon City District Office, Room 1707, 17/F, One Harbourfront, 18-22 Tak Fung Street, Hung Hom, Kowloon.

     Members of the public can also browse the information at the Lands Department's website (www.landsd.gov.hk). Copies of the plan can also be purchased on order at the Lands Department Survey and Mapping Office.
