SFH visits medical and healthcare institutions in Toronto (with photos)

     The Secretary for Food and Health, Dr York Chow, continued his three-day visit to Toronto on May 5 (Toronto time), visiting medical facilities and meeting senior health officials of Ontario.

     Dr Chow started the day by visiting the Krembil Neuroscience Centre of Toronto Western Hospital. He was briefed by the Medical Director of the Centre, Dr Michael Fehlings, about its latest development programme.

     Dr Chow then went to Ontario's Ministry of Health and Long-term Care to hold a meeting with the Deputy Minister, Mr Saad Rafi, on issues of mutual concern including medical manpower, training and expenses.

     This was followed by a visit to Regent Park Community Health Centre in the afternoon. He was briefed by its Executive Director, Ms Shella Braidek, about Ontario's basic healthcare system at community level, case management system, community health nursing and other outreach healthcare service programmes.

     Dr Chow will start his three-day visit to Chile on May 6 (Toronto time).
