The Director of Food and Environmental Hygiene has ordered a siu-mei and lo-mei shop in Tuen Mun to suspend business for 14 days. The operator repeatedly stored open food improperly in the premises, in breach of the Food Business Regulation.

The siu-mei and lo-mei shop, located at Shop No.1 (Portion B) on the ground floor of Kai Hei Land Building at 385 Castle Peak Road, was ordered to suspend business from today (February 17) to March 2.

"In November and December last year, two convictions on the breach were recorded against the food premises," a spokesman for the Food and Environmental Hygiene Department said.

"A total fine of $3,000 was levied by the court and 15 demerit points were registered against the licensee under the department's demerit points system. The contraventions resulted in the 14-day business suspension," he added.

He said the food premises licensee also had a record of two convictions in September and October last year for the same offence. Another fine of $3,000 was levied and 15 demerit points were registered. The breaches led to business suspension for seven days in December last year.

The spokesman reminded licensees of food premises to comply with the Food Business Regulation, or their licences could be suspended or cancelled.
