The Chief Executive, Mr Donald Tsang, and Mrs Tsang today (February 1) visited the Lunar New Year Fair in Sha Tsui Road Playground, Tsuen Wan, to get a taste of the festive atmosphere and share the joys of the season with local people.
Mr and Mrs Tsang's first purchase was six bottles of locally produced honey from a stallholder. They then visited a stall run by a group of students from the University of Hong Kong, where they bought some rabbit ornaments, two of which they immediately gave to two children as New Year gifts. Together with a group of young stall operators and visitors, Mr Tsang then wished all Hong Kong people a prosperous and happy Year of the Rabbit.
Mr and Mrs Tsang then bought two fortune bags from a stall managed by SAHK, which supports autistic children and their parents.
Before concluding their visit, they stopped by two flower stalls and bought some New Year flowers. In total, Mr and Mrs Tsang spent $888 during their visit to the fair.
