In view of the persistent cold weather, the number of blood donations has dropped sharply whilst hospitals' demand for blood has increased continuously and noticeably. The supply of all blood groups has dropped from the stable stock level for 10 days consumption to only six days. The Hong Kong Red Cross Blood Transfusion Service urgently needs some 1,000 blood donations every day to ensure supply.
Every minute counts in saving lives. Please act now and come to give blood! As a gesture of our appreciation, donors giving blood from now until February 8 will be presented with a set of "Mini Crystal Lucky Charm and Fortune Fai-Chun".
