Second stage public consultation on healthcare reform to end soon
************************************************************

Members of the public are encouraged to forward their views and comments on the second stage public consultation on healthcare reform before the consultation ends tomorrow (January 7).

The Food and Health Bureau released the consultation document entitled "My Health My Choice" on October 6 last year, under which a government-regulated, voluntary Health Protection Scheme, aimed at enhancing the long-term sustainability of the healthcare system, is proposed for public consultation.

"Public participation in the consultation exercise is of vital importance.  Their feedback helps us map out the best way forward.  We urge members of the public to send in their views before the closing date of the public consultation by post, email or fax. After collecting public views, we will analyse them and release the consultation outcome in due course," a spokesman for the Food and Health Bureau said.

Comments and views can be sent to the Food and Health Bureau by mail to 19/F, Murray Building, Garden Road, Central; by facsimile to 2102 2525; or by email to mychoice@fhb.gov.hk. Copies of the consultation document "My Health My Choice" and related information can be downloaded from the Healthcare Reform Second Stage Public Consultation website (www.MyHealthMyChoice.gov.hk) and are available for collection at district offices, public hospitals and clinics.
