Continuing Education Fund course de-registered
**********************************************

The Labour and Welfare Bureau announced today (December 3) that the course entitled "Strategic Management & Marketing Communications [2 Modules from BA (Hons) Business Administration offered by Coventry University]" [Continuing Education Fund (CEF) course code: 21Z050257] offered by INTI College Hong Kong had been de-registered from the CEF's reimbursable course list with immediate effect.

The decision was made on the grounds that the College failed to comply with the conditions of approval for CEF registration.

A spokesman for the Labour and Welfare Bureau said, "The College is required to inform all affected CEF applicants about the de-registration. The College must not accept new applications for the course or promote it as a CEF reimbursable course.

"The College has to continue the classes of the registered course which have already begun.  For those which have not yet begun, the College must refund in full all course fees and related payments to the CEF applicants."

The spokesman stressed that the Office of the Continuing Education Fund (OCEF) would continue to closely monitor CEF courses offered by course providers. Apart from authenticating attendance records of learners, their assessment results and claims for reimbursement, it would conduct surprise visits to course providers to ensure that the conditions of approval were fully complied with.

For enquiries, members of the public may contact the OCEF at its hotline 3142 2277 or write via email, post or by fax.
