The Government announced today (November 19) the re-appointment of nine serving members and the appointment of three new members to the Hospital Authority, with effect from December 1, 2010.
Mr Chan Bing-woon, Professor Fok Tai-fai, Professor Lee Sum-ping, Dr Donald Li Kwok-tung, Professor George Woo and Mr Stephen Yip Moon-wah are re-appointed for two years. Dr Joseph Lee Kok-long, Mr John Lee Luen-wai and Ms Queenie Leung Pik-man are re-appointed for one year.
The new members are Ms Quince Chong Wai-yan, Mr Ricky Fung Choi-cheung and Ms Winnie Ng. They are appointed for two years. Following is a brief biography of the new members:
Ms Quince Chong Wai-yan is currently the director of corporate affairs of an airline. She is the Chairman of the Hong Kong Association for Customer Service Excellence and Life Education Activity Programme. She is also a member of the Council of the Hong Kong Baptist University, Standing Committee on Language Education and Research and Tourism Strategy Group.
Mr Ricky Fung Choi-cheung was the Secretary General of the Legislative Council Secretariat from 1994 to 2008.
Ms Winnie Ng is a director of a bus company. She is also a member of the Equal Opportunities Commission and Hong Kong Tourism Board.
The Secretary for Food and Health, Dr York Chow, welcomed the new members to the authority. He also thanked the outgoing member, Ms Vivien Chan who has served for six years, for her advice and contribution to the Hospital Authority. Ms Chan will retire from the board with effect from December 1.
The Hospital Authority, as from December 1, 2010, will comprise a chairman, 23 non-official members, three public officers and one principal officer from the Hospital Authority. The new membership list is as follows:
