The Chief Secretary for Administration, Mr Henry Tang, today (November 4) visited the Asia Women's League Limited Ho Leung Kit Ting Care and Attention Home for the Elderly to understand more about how elderly services can be further improved.

Mr Tang discussed with the residents and the management on various issues relating to elderly services, including ageing in place, admission to elderly homes, elderly allowances, medical services, support and training of nursing staff as well as retirement in the Mainland.

Mr Tang appreciated the candid exchange. He said the views gathered would be useful when reviewing the Government's population policy and planning for the establishment of the Community Care Fund.

Ho Leung Kit Ting Care and Attention Home for the Elderly, set up in 1998, provides residential care for elders who suffer from poor health and are assessed to be of moderate impairment level under the Standardised Care Need Assessment Mechanism for Elderly Services.
