Free exhibition at Kowloon Park to introduce the world of flowers (with photo)

     To arouse public interest in horticulture and enhance awareness of green issues, the Leisure and Cultural Services Department will organise a horticultural education exhibition, "The World of Flowers", tomorrow (October 30) and Sunday (October 31), from 10am to 4pm at Kowloon Park Arcade. Admission is free.

     Descriptive display panels will enable members of the public to learn more about the factors affecting the colour of flowers and blooming, the function and structure of flowers and the use of flowers in daily life. The panels will also have tips on home decoration using flowering plants.

     Fringe activities, including games stalls and eco-friendly horticulture workshops, will be held during the exhibition. Visitors can also discover the fun of pot-planting under the guidance of horticulture instructors.

     Talks in Cantonese, entitled "An introduction to flowering plants" and "Eco-friendly floral arrangement demonstration", will be held in the Secondary Hall at Kowloon Park Sports Centre. Admission tickets are required.
