The Hong Kong-Shanghai Mobile Film Exchange Forum was held in the Shanghai Film Art Academy today (October 22). One of the programmes for Hong Kong Week at Expo 2010 Shanghai China, the forum brought together directors, academics and industry leaders from Hong Kong and the Mainland to share experiences on mobile film production and views on its trend.
Award-winning films of the Hong Kong Mobile Film Production Contest were also shown at the forum to show the quality and creativity of mobile films produced by local talent.
Officiating at the the forum's launching ceremony, the Under Secretary for Commerce and Economic Development, Mr Gregory So, said: "The forum marks a milestone for exchange on mobile film content between Hong Kong and the Mainland. We welcome more similar events to take place to help consolidate Hong Kong's position as the exchange platform for mobile films in Asia."
He noted that the Hong Kong Mobile Film Festival had developed into one of the most spectacular promotional events for the creative industries. "The Government will help expand its scale through funding support by Create Hong Kong. The Hong Kong International Mobile Film Awards to be held in March 2011 will provide an exchange platform for the mobile film industry from around the world and help enhance regional and global co-operation," Mr So said.
The Hong Kong-Shanghai Mobile Film Exchange Forum was organised by the Hong Kong Wireless Technology Industry Association. The organiser staged the Hong Kong Mobile Film Showcase at various locations in Shanghai in August and September to display the winning entries of the Hong Kong Mobile Film Production Contest.
