Fatal traffic accident in Kwun Tong

     Police are investigating a traffic accident in Kwun Tong this morning (October 14) in which a 39-year-old man was killed.

     About 5am, a taxi driven by a 43-year-old man was travelling along the middle lane of Tseung Kwan O Road downslope. It reportedly rammed to a light goods vehicle (LGV) which was parked on the third lane for a road work. The LGV was pushed forward and hit three male workers, aged 31 to 39.
 
     Three workers and the taxi driver sustained injuries and were rushed to United Christian Hospital for medical treatments. A 39-year-old man who sustained serious head injuries was later certified dead at 5.14am.

    The taxi driver was arrested for dangerous driving and is still being detained for further enquiries.

     Investigations by the Special Investigation Team of Traffic, Kowloon East are underway.
