Police arrested a 26-year-old woman last night (September 28) in suspected connection with a case in which a newborn baby girl was killed in Mong Kok yesterday afternoon.
About 12.50pm yesterday, Police received a report that a newborn baby girl was found inside a guesthouse room on Sai Yeung Choi Street South. Police sped to the scene and found the baby girl inside the toilet of the room. The baby was rushed to Kwong Wah Hospital where she was certified dead at 2.47pm.
After initial investigation, Police arrested a 26-year-old woman at a guesthouse on Tung Choi Street in Mong Kok at about 11pm last night. Initial enquiries revealed that the woman have abandoned the newborn baby girl after giving birth inside the toilet of the guesthouse room on Sai Yeung Choi Street South.
A post-mortem examination will be conducted this morning (September 29) to ascertain the cause of the babyˇ¦s death.
The woman is arrested for murder and is still being detained for further enquiries.
Active investigations by the District Crime Squad of Mong Kok are underway.
