The Buildings Department approved 20 building plans in August - 6 on Hong Kong Island, 4 in Kowloon and 10 in the New Territories.
Of the approved plans, 10 were for apartment and apartment/ commercial developments, 3 were for commercial developments, 5 were for factory and industrial developments and 2 were for community services developments.
In the same month, consent was given for work to start on 14 building projects that, when completed, will provide 91,032 square metres of gross floor area for domestic use, involving 1,026 units, and 52,326 square metres of gross floor area for non-domestic use. The department has received notification of commencement of work for 10 building projects.
The department also issued 11 occupation permits - 6 on Hong Kong Island, 1 in Kowloon and 4 in the New Territories.
Of the buildings certified for occupation, the gross floor areas for domestic use were 4,892 square metres, involving 36 units, and 9,689 square metres for non-domestic use.
The declared cost of the new buildings completed in August totalled about $0.8 billion.
In addition, 5 demolition consents involving 5 building structures were issued.
The department received 2,420 complaints against unauthorised building works in August, and issued 2,114 removal orders on unauthorised works.
