Police are investigating a murder case that occurred in Hong Kong waters east of Waglan Island this morning (September 24) in which a 43-year-old woman died.
At about 7.44am today, a report was made to Police that a 43-year-old mainland woman was pushed into the sea from a passenger ship east of Waglan Island inside Hong Kong waters. Marine Police and Fire Services Department (FSD) sped to the scene and FSD recovered the woman from the sea in the nearby vicinity. The woman was certified dead at the scene.
After initial investigation, a 47-year-old mainland man was arrested on board the ship in connection with the case. The man is being detained for further enquiries.
Post-mortem examination will be conducted to ascertain the cause of death.
Active investigations by Regional Crime Unit, Marine are under way.
