CSSA caseload for August

     The overall Comprehensive Social Security Assistance (CSSA) caseload in August showed a slight decrease of 13 cases over July, representing an insignificant decrease of 0.01%, according to the latest CSSA caseload statistics released by the Social Welfare Department today (September 22).

     Total CSSA caseload at the end of August stood at
285,956 (see attached table), with a total of 477,992 recipients.

     Analysed by case nature, unemployment cases registered a month-to-month decrease of 0.6% to 31,206 cases.

     Low earning cases showed a decrease of 0.4% to 14,827 cases while single parent cases decreased by 0.6% to 35,353 cases.

     Old age and permanent disability cases increased by 0.2% and 0.3% respectively to 153,520 and 18,324 cases.
