Heiquan Theatre to perform "Blind Photographers"
************************************************

"Blind Photographers", a mime show, will be performed by Heiquan Theatre in October. An actor will interact with video and sound effects to lead the audience into a distinctive world of mime.

This is a story about two photographers, one born blind, the other losing his eyesight after an accident.  They don't know each other, but they share one thing in common: With their camera, they want to put their hopes into that smooth surface called a "photograph", which holds a bright world that will forever live in their hearts.  They want to use their camera to tell what they have gone through, something they have never shared before.  As scene after scene appears on photosensitive paper, the stories will warm your heart, make you thankful, give you joy and make you sigh.

The performance is directed, devised and performed by Chiu Kin- tong, the Artistic Director of Heiquan Theatre. Chiu Kin-tong graduated from the School of Drama of the Hong Kong Academy for Performing Arts, and was twice presented the Outstanding Actor award.  He was also named "Outstanding Young Actor" in the Hong Kong Drama Awards 2008. Having long developed a keen interest in mime and movement theatre, he founded Heiquan Theatre in 2007.  Since then, he has given three clown-style mime theatre productions, "Heiquan Railway", "Hekulada" and "Think out of the Lift", and won critical acclaim for introducing new elements into conventional mime.

Presented by the Leisure and Cultural Services Department, "Blind Photographers" by Heiquan Theatre will be staged at 8pm on October 28 to 30 (Thursday to Saturday), and 3pm on October 30 and 31 (Saturday and Sunday), at the Black Box Theatre, Jockey Club Creative Arts Centre.
