The following is issued on behalf of the Hospital Authority:
Regarding a rehabilitation ward in Kowloon Hospital in which some patients had been confirmed with Norovirus recently, the hospital announced the following updates today (September 7).
One more male patient, aged 81, presented with vomiting and diarrhoea in the rehabilitation ward today (September 7). The patient is being treated in isolation and is in stable condition. Appropriate viral tests have been arranged and the test results are pending.
Infection control measures in the concerned ward have been enhanced and admission to the ward is suspended. All other patients in the ward are under close surveillance.
The case has been reported to the Hospital Authority Head Office and the Centre for Health Protection for follow up.
