Hong Kong Week in Sydney opening reception cum movie night (with photos)

     Some 300 guests gathered at the Art Gallery of New South Wales today (September 3) to attend the opening reception cum movie night of 2010 Hong Kong Week in Sydney.

     Addressing the event, the Director of the Hong Kong Economic and Trade Office (HKETO) (Sydney), Mr Steve Barclay said the inaugural Hong Kong Week would foster closer ties between the two cities which are similar in many ways.

     "Both of us are financial and business hubs, both are truly multi-cultural and cosmopolitan and both share their love for the arts and entertainment," he said.

     2010 Hong Kong Week in Sydney (September 3-12) will present a rich and varied programme that includes a movie night, a painting and photography exhibition, a food and wine dinner, a business seminar, a carnival as well as a finale ball to raise funds for charity.

     The event is jointly organised by HKETO (Sydney), the Hong Kong-Australia Business Association (New South Wales Chapter), TVB (Australia), Way In Network and the Hong Kong Trade Development Council.
