Update of a cluster of Human Metapneumovirus patients at Tai Po Hospital

     Regarding some cases of Human Metapneumovirus in a male psychiatric ward in Tai Po Hospital, the spokesperson announced the following updates today (August 28):

     One more patient (aged 42) in the ward had presented with upper respiratory symptoms. The patient is being treated under isolation and is in stable condition.

     Admission and visiting to the ward concerned have been suspended and infection control measures have been stepped up. All patients in the ward are under close surveillance.

     This case has been reported to the Hospital Authority Head Office and the Centre for Health Protection for necessary follow up.
