CE to attend PPRD Forum in Fujian

     The Chief Executive, Mr Donald Tsang, will leave for Fuzhou, Fujian, in the afternoon of August 27 to attend the Sixth Pan-Pearl River Delta Regional Co-operation and Development Forum and Trade Fair (PPRD Forum).

     Mr Tsang will attend the opening ceremony and cultural programme upon arrival and attend the High-Level Forum the following day (August 28). On August 29, he will attend a joint conference with the leaders of the governments of the nine PPRD provinces and the Macao Special Administrative Region. During the trip, Mr Tsang will also have bilateral meetings with the leaders of some provinces.

     The Secretary for Constitutional and Mainland Affairs, Mr Stephen Lam; the Director of the Chief Executive's Office, Mr Raymond Tam; the Acting Permanent Secretary for Financial Services and the Treasury (Financial Services), Mr Cheng Yan-chee; and the Commissioner for Tourism, Mr Philip Yung, are among government representatives accompanying Mr Tsang during the visit.

     The Chief Executive will return to Hong Kong on August 29 afternoon. During his absence, the Financial Secretary, Mr John C Tsang, will be Acting Chief Executive on August 27, and the Secretary for Justice, Mr Wong Yan Lung, SC, will be Acting Chief Executive on August 28 and 29.
