Hundreds of children and their family members took part in the Anti-rodent Fun Fair Day 2010 held this afternoon (August 22) at the Health Education Exhibition and Resource Centre (HEERC) in Kowloon Park, Tsim Sha Tsui.
Organised by the HEERC of the Food and Environmental Hygiene Department (FEHD), the event aimed at enhancing public awareness of anti-rodent messages to tie in with the enhancement phase of the Anti-rodent Campaign being launched throughout the territory.
"To guard against rodent infestation, the environment must be kept clean, food sources and harbourages for rodents removed and their routes blocked," said an FEHD spokesman.
Through exhibition panels and game booths specially designed and set up by HEERC volunteers, participants learned about effective tips to eliminate rodents and prevent their infestation in a fun-filled setting.
Meanwhile, anti-rodent game booths and an exhibition are running for five consecutive Sundays in August at the HEERC. All participants receive a souvenir.
