Three charities will hold flag sales on Hong Kong Island (Spring Blossom Project Foundation), in Kowloon (The Mental Health Association of Hong Kong ) and the New Territories (Kwai Tsing Safe Community and Healthy City Association) from 7am to 12.30pm this Saturday (August 21), a spokesman for the Social Welfare Department (SWD) said today (August 18).
Arrangements have been made with the charities to help people distinguish between the three flag-selling activities.

Information on the flag days of the month is also available at the department's website (www.swd.gov.hk/en/index/site_whatsnew/).
If any fraudulent flag day activities are suspected, people should not make donations and should immediately report the matter to the police.
The Government has promulgated the "Reference Guide on Best Practices for Charitable Fund-raising Activities" for voluntary compliance by the charitable organisations. Members of the public may browse the Reference Guide on the SWD homepage (www.swd.gov.hk/en/index/site_pubsvc/page_controlofc/sub_referenceg/).
