The Secretary for Home Affairs, Mr Tsang Tak-sing, expresses concern about the gun injury sustained by a player of the Hong Kong Baseball Team attending the fourth biennial International Baseball Federation Women's World Cup of Baseball in Venezuela. He also extends his regards to the injured player and her family.
The Home Affairs Bureau has contacted the Secretary-General of the Hong Kong Baseball Association, Mr Felix Yip, who is accompanying the team in Venezuela. Mr Yip confirmed that surgery has been performed on the injured player, who is now in a stable condition. The HKSAR Government will continue to follow up on the matter and provide assistance as appropriate.
