The delegation of the Legislative Council Panel on Home Affairs arrived in Seoul on Sunday night (August 8) and began its duty visit in Seoul yesterday (August 9) to study the experience in the development of cultural software and preservation of intangible cultural heritage in Korea. Before departure for Seoul, the delegation visited the Miho Museum in Kyoto, Japan, and the Kyoto Municipal Museum of Art.
On its first day of visit in Seoul, the delegation met with officials of the Korea Cultural Heritage Foundation to study the implementation of measures in the preservation and development of intangible cultural heritage and related facilities. The delegation also visited the Korea Arts and Culture Education Service to understand its experience in the advancement and promotion of arts and cultural education, particularly the initiatives to broaden school and community-based arts and cultural education. In the evening, the delegation attended a popular cultural performance at Myeongdong.
The delegation will meet today (August 10) with the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism, and visit the Insa-dong Cultural District, the Noridan and Haja Foundation, the Seoul Arts Centre, and the National Centre for Korean Traditional Performing Arts.
