Cheshire Home Chung Hom Kok reports cluster of HSI cases

The following is issued on behalf of the Hospital Authority:

     The spokesperson of Cheshire Home Chung Hom Kok (CCH) gave the following update today (August 2) regarding an earlier announcement on confirmation of Human Swine Influenza (HSI) cases in three wards:

     One more male patient (aged 58) in one of the wards has tested positive for HSI. Five patients in total are so far confirmed with HSI.  They are being treated under isolation and all are in stable condition.

     There will be no admission to and discharge from the concerned ward for the time being; visiting is also suspended. Infection control measures in the ward have been stepped up. All other patients in the ward are under close surveillance.

     The cases have been reported to Hospital Authority Head Office and the Centre for Health Protection for follow up.
