Food premises in Tsuen Wan ordered to suspend business

     The Director of Food and Environmental Hygiene has ordered a food premises in Tsuen Wan to suspend business for seven days and 14 days for repeated violations of the Food Business Regulation.

     The food premises, Siu Choi Wong Restaurant, is located on the ground floor, 22 Sam Pei Square.

     The seven-day suspension will take place from today (July 30) to August 5, to be followed by another 14-day suspension from August 6 to 19.

     "Last August and May this year, there were two convictions in respect of illegal extension of food business at the said food premises.

     "A total fine of $3,800 was levied and 30 points were registered against the licensee under the department's demerit points system. The contraventions resulted in the seven-day business suspension," a Food and Environmental Hygiene Department spokesman said.

     He added that in May this year, there were another two convictions for the same offence involving the food premises.

     "A total fine of $3,600 was levied and 30 demerit points were also registered against the licensee. The breaches led to business suspension for 14 days," the spokesman said.

     He reminded licensees of food premises to comply strictly with the Food Business Regulation, otherwise their licences could be suspended or cancelled.
