The Financial Secretary has appointed Mr Mark Seumas McCombe to succeed Mr Peter Wong Tung-shun as a member of the Risk Management Committee (RMC) of Hong Kong Exchanges and Clearing Limited (HKEx).
The appointment, made under the Securities and Futures Ordinance, is for the period from July 28, 2010, to January 19, 2012. Mr McCombe is the incumbent chairman of Hong Kong Interbank Clearing Limited.
The RMC was established in March 2000, with the statutory role of formulating policies on risk management matters relating to the activities of HKEx and its subsidiaries for consideration by the Board of HKEx.
The RMC is chaired by Mr Ronald Joseph Arculli, Chairman of HKEx. The other members of the RMC are Professor Chan Ka-lok, Mr Marvin Cheung Kin-tung, Mr Fong Hup, Dr Bill Kwok Chi-piu, Mr Edmond Lau Ying-pan and Mr Keith Lui Kei-kwong.
