The Transport and Housing Bureau (THB) will hold a forum tomorrow (July 21) for the public to collect views on subsidising home ownership.
A spokesman for the THB said, "This will be the second of two public forums organised as part of the ongoing consultation exercise on Subsidising Home Ownership."
It will be held from 7.30pm at the auditorium of the Hong Kong Federation of Youth Groups Building at North Point. Members of the public who have registered with the THB are reminded to attend.
However, they should also watch out for the latest weather report, the spokesman said, referring to the possibility of a deterioration in weather conditions because of Tropical Storm Chanthu. "If there is any doubt, they can call our hotline 2233 9320 tomorrow (10am to 7.30pm) to check if the forum will be held as scheduled," he said.
The spokesman noted that there would still be a public forum for interest groups. Details are as follows:
Date: August 20, 2010 (Friday)
Time: 7.30pm - 9.30pm
Venue: Lai Chi Kok Community Hall, G/F, Banyan Garden, 863 Lai Chi Kok Road, Kowloon
Members of interest groups wishing to attend the forum are invited to register through the hotline on 2233 9320 (10am - 6pm, Monday to Saturday) or register on-line through the bureau's website. Seats are available on a first-come-first-served basis.
The THB invites members of the public to send in their views on the subject through email, fax and by post. Messages can also be posted on the THB's e-forum or its official page on Facebook.
The consultation exercise will last until September 17, 2010. Views and suggestions collected will be forwarded to the Chief Executive for his consideration.
The consultation framework has been uploaded onto a dedicated webpage on the THB website (www.thb.gov.hk/eng/policy/housing/policy/consultation/index.htm). Members of the public are welcome to browse the webpage for the consultation framework and related information.
