Man jailed for drug trafficking

     A 24-year-old man was sentenced to an imprisonment of eight years and six months at the Court of First Instance for trafficking in dangerous drugs today (July 6).

     The Court heard that on August 7 last year, officers of Narcotics Bureau mounted an intelligence-based operation and arrested a 24-year-old man who left the building on No. 34 - 58 Yin Hing Street in San Po Kong and was about to board a private car. Upon searching, Police seized about 820 grams of Ketamine and 598 tablets of Ermine-5 worth about $128,000 in his possession, inside the private car and an unit of the building.

     The man was charged with three counts of trafficking in dangerous drugs. He pleaded guilty and was sentenced to an imprisonment of eight years and six months in the Court of First Instance today.
