The Government intends to carry out treatment of sea-bed sediments at the Kai Tak Approach Channel and Kwun Tong Typhoon Shelter and improvement works to the embankments of the associated waterways and outfall of Kai Tak Nullah, as well as demolition of a disused dolphin in the vicinity of To Kwa Wan Typhoon Shelter. The works, which will affect an area of approximately 90 hectares of foreshore and sea-bed, aim to improve the environment of this area for the proposed Kai Tak Development.
The works are scheduled to begin in late 2011 and be completed by December 2013.
The extent of the area affected is described in a notice published in the Government Gazette today (July 2).
The notice together with its related plan are posted on notice boards near the site. The plan can also be seen and purchased on order at the Lands Department Survey and Mapping Office, 23rd floor, North Point Government Offices, 333 Java Road, North Point. It can also be seen at the following district offices:
* Public Enquiry Service Centre of Kowloon City District Office, Room 1707, 17th floor, One Harbourfront, 18-22 Tak Fung Street, Hung Hom, Kowloon;
* Public Enquiry Service Centre of Kwun Tong District Office, Lower Ground Floor, Kwun Tong District Branch Offices Building, 6 Tung Yan Street, Kwun Tong, Kowloon; and
* Public Enquiry Service Centre of Wong Tai Sin District Office, Unit 201, 2nd floor, Lung Cheung Office Block, 138 Lung Cheung Road, Wong Tai Sin, Kowloon.
The plan has also been uploaded onto the Lands Department's website (www.landsd.gov.hk) under Government Notices.
Any person who considers that he has an interest, right or easement in or over the foreshore and sea-bed involved may submit a written objection to the Director of Lands, 20th Floor, North Point Government Offices, 333 Java Road, North Point, by September 2.
