Police will implement special traffic arrangements to facilitate a public meeting at Happy Valley Racecourse followed by a parade to march off from the Racecourse to Southorn Playground tomorrow (July 1).
(A) Road closure
The following roads will be closed from 9am to 12.15pm:
(1) A section of southbound Morrison Hill Road between Sports Road and Queen's Road East; and
(2) A section of southbound Morrison Hill Road between Leighton Road and Sports Road towards Happy Valley and Aberdeen.
The following roads will be closed from 10.15am to 1.15pm:
(1) A section of westbound Leighton Road between Canal Road East and Wong Nai Chung Road will be closed and reverted from westbound to eastbound traffic;
(2) A section of westbound Leighton Road underneath Canal Road flyover between Canal Road East and Morrison Hill Road;
(3) A section of southbound Morrison Hill Road between Leighton Road and Queen's Road East;
(4) A section of northbound Morrison Hill Road between Sung Tak Street and Tin Lok Lane;
(5) A section of northbound Tin Lok Lane between Wanchai Road and Hennessy Road;
(6) A section of westbound Hennessy Road between Tin Lok Lane and Fenwick Street;
(7) A section of northbound Lee Garden Road between Hennessy Road and Kai Chiu Road;
(8) A section of westbound Wanchai Road between Tin Lok Lane and Tak Yun Street; and
(9) A section of northbound Johnston Road between Thomson Road and Hennessy Road.
(B) Traffic Diversion
Traffic along Canal Road East proceeding to Happy Valley area and Aberdeen Tunnel will be prohibited and must turn left onto Sport Road or Leighton Road from 10.15am to 12.15pm.
Traffic along the following roads will be diverted from 10.15am to 1.15pm:
(1) Traffic along Canal Road East proceeding to northbound Morrison Hill Road will be prohibited and must turn left onto westbound Leighton Road or go straight onto Sports Road;
(2) Traffic along northbound Morrison Hill Road will be diverted onto Sung Tak Street or Canal Road West;
(3) Traffic along southbound Morrison Hill Road proceeding to Happy Valley area must turn left onto westbound Leighton Road and then southbound Wong Nai Chung Road;
(4) Traffic along southbound Stewart Road will be prohibited from turning right onto westbound Hennessy Road;
(5) Traffic along northbound Fleming Road will be prohibited from turning left onto westbound Hennessy Road;
(6) Traffic along southbound Fleming Road will be prohibited from turning right onto westbound Hennessy Road;
(7) All traffic along westbound Hennessy Road must turn right onto Tonnochy Road; and
(8) All franchised buses travelling along westbound Hennessy Road must turn left onto southbound Canal Road (Service Road) underneath Canal Road flyover.
(C) Suspension of bus stops and tram stop
The following bus stops and tram stop will be suspended from 8.45am to 12.15pm:
(1) Bus stop outside 67-79, southbound Wong Nai Chung Road; and
(2) Tram Stop outside 73, southbound Wong Nai Chung Road.
The following bus stops and tram stop will be suspended from 10.15am to 1.15pm:
(1) All bus stops at southbound Morrison Hill Road between Sports Road and Queen's Road East;
(2) Bus stop at northbound Morrison Hill Road near Yan Tak Lane;
(3) All bus stops along the closed roads; and
(4) Bus stop at eastbound Leighton Road opposite to Craigengower Cricket Club.
(D) Suspension of taxi stand
The Taxi Stand on eastbound Sung Tak Street will be suspended between 10.15am and 1.15pm.
(E) Suspension of parking meters, motorcycle parking spaces and lay-by
Metered parking spaces at Wong Nai Chung Road near the Infield Entrance with the lay-by will be suspended from 11am on June 30 till 11.30am on July 1.
Metered parking carpark at Wong Nai Chung Road opposite St. Paul Primary Catholic School with the lay-by will be suspended from 11am on June 30 till 11.30am on July 1.
All metered parking spaces along Oi Kwan Road including motorcycle parking spaces will be suspended between 8am and 1pm.
There will be five designated pick-up points for coaches in Wanchai area to facilitate the dispersal of the parade from Southorn Playground. The parking meters, loading zone, unloading zone and lay-by along the pick-up points mentioned below will be suspended between 10am and 2pm. The pick up points are:
(a) A section of northbound Luard Road between Hennessy Road and Johnston Road;
(b) A section of eastbound Johnston Road between Luard Road and Fenwick Street and a part of southbound Fenwick Street near Johnston Road;
(c) A section of eastbound Johnston Road between Fleming Road and Hennessy Road;
(d) A section of westbound Lockhart Road near Fenwick Street; and
(e) A section of westbound Gloucester Road (Inner) near Fenwick Street.
(F) Suspension of Traffic Sign
Traffic along eastbound Wanchai Road will not be permitted to turn right into Tak Yan Street between 10.15am and 12.15pm.
(G) Suspension of crossing
The crossing at Wong Nai Chung Road near Sing Woo Road will be suspended between 8am and noon.
The following special traffic arrangement may be implemented from 10.30am if necessary:

(3) A section of Wanchai Road between Morrison Hill Road and Bowrington Road;
(4) A section of Bowrington Road between Sharp Street West and Hennessy Road;
(5) Irving Street (except Franchised Buses and Green Mini-buses); and
(6) Jardine's Bazaar.
Road Diversion

(1) Traffic along northbound Morrison Hill Road may be diverted onto Canal Road flyover or Sung Tak Street;
(2) Traffic along Queen's Road East may be diverted onto Canal Road flyover;
(3) Traffic along Wanchai Road must turn right onto southbound Morrison Hill Road;
(4) Traffic along Causeway Road may be prohibited from entering Irving Street and may be diverted onto westbound Leighton Road (except Franchised Buses); and
(5) Traffic along northbound Pennington Street may be prohibited from turning left onto Jardine's Bazaar and must turn right onto eastbound Yee Wo Street.
