Relocation of Anti-drink Driving Display Vehicle (with photo)
*******************************************************

The following is issued on behalf of the Road Safety Council:

The Road Safety Council (RSC) will set up the "Anti-drink Driving Display Vehicle" at the Tai Po Road junction of Castle Peak Road in Sham Shui Po, to tie in with the territory-wide anti-drink driving operation conducted by the Police during the period of the World Cup football tournament.  Both the display and the operation will start today (June 25).

The display, a vehicle wrecked in a traffic accident, is one of the RSC's sustainable publicity measures to reinforce the message, "If you drink, don't drive". The vehicle was displayed at the Hong Kong Island entrance of the Cross Harbour Tunnel between December 2009 and March 2010.

The RSC spokesperson said that the display is a stark reminder to the public about the serious consequences of drink-driving, and that drivers should never drink and drive.
