The Buildings Department approved 17 building plans in May ¡V three on Hong Kong Island, five in Kowloon and nine in the New Territories.
Of the approved plans, seven were for apartment and apartment/commercial developments, six were for commercial developments, one was for factory and industrial developments, and three were for community services developments.
In the same month, consent was given for work to start on 11 building projects that, when completed, will provide 23,166 square metres of gross floor area for domestic use, involving 145 units, and 15,358 square metres of gross floor area for non-domestic use. The department has received notification of commencement of work for 12 building projects.
The department also issued 4 occupation permits - two in Kowloon and two in the New Territories.
Of the buildings certified for occupation, the gross floor areas for non-domestic use were 13,515 square metres.
The declared cost of the new buildings completed in May totalled about $0.16 billion.
In addition, eight demolition consents involving eight building structures were issued.
The department received 2,175 complaints against unauthorised building works in May, and issued 1,715 removal orders on unauthorised works.
