Police are investigating a traffic accident in Kwun Tong this afternoon (June 12) in which an 81-year-old woman was killed.
About 12.30pm, a public light bus driven by a 59-year-old man was travelling on Shung Yan Street. When turning right into northbound Hong Ning Road, it hit the 81-year-old woman who was crossing the road.
The woman sustained serious injuries and was rushed to Queen Elizabeth Hospital where she was certified dead at 6.25pm.
Investigations by the Special Investigation Team of Traffic, Kowloon East are underway.
Anyone who saw the accident or who has any information to offer is urged to contact the investigating officers at 2305 7500.
