The Hong Kong Monetary Authority (HKMA) announced today (June 7) that Mr Mu Huaipeng is appointed as a Senior Advisor with effect from June 7, 2010. Mr Mu is on secondment from the People's Bank of China (PBoC) while taking up the position in the HKMA. He will offer advice and assistance in the areas of financial cooperation between Hong Kong and the Mainland, further expansion of the renminbi business in Hong Kong, and the development of opportunities for Hong Kong's financial services industry in the Mainland.
Mr Mu last held the position of Director-General of the Financial Market Department with the PBoC prior to his secondment.
