Approved The Peak Area Outline Zoning Plan amended
**************************************************

The Town Planning Board today (May 28) announced amendments to the approved The Peak Area Outline Zoning Plan (OZP).

The amendments mainly involve the imposition of building height restrictions for "Government, Institution or Community" ("G/IC") and "Other Specified Uses" zones. The main objective is to meet public aspirations for a better living environment.  In general, the building height restrictions intend to ensure that the scale and intensity of the developments in these sites will be compatible with that of the surrounding developments in order to maintain the existing low-rise character of the Peak Area.

Other amendments include the rezoning of two sites from "Green Belt" ("GB") to "G/IC" and from "GB" to "Residential (Group C)2" to reflect the as-built situation.

The draft The Peak Area OZP No. S/H14/10, incorporating the amendments, is now available for public inspection during office hours at the secretariat of the Board, the Planning Enquiry Counters in North Point and Sha Tin, the Hong Kong District Planning Office, the Central and Western District Office and the Wan Chai District Office.

Copies of the draft The Peak Area OZP are available for sale at the Map Publications Centres in North Point and Yau Ma Tei. The electronic version of the OZP can be viewed at the Board¡¦s website (www.info.gov.hk/tpb).

Any person can make written representations in respect of the amendments to the secretary of the Board on or before July 28. Representations made to the Town Planning Board will be available for public inspection.
